David Sheepshanks, appointed joint-acting chairman of the FA earlier in the week, was at Portman Road on Thursday to congratulate students on completing the Prince’s Trust TEAM programme, which is run under the banner of the club’s Community Trust. Sheepshanks remains the chairman of the Community Trust, as well as chairing the PLC which owns 12.5% of Town and being a member of the club board.

Goals from Jon Stead, Jack Colback and Gareth McAuley took the Blues to a 3-1 win over Blackpool, out of the bottom three and extended their unbeaten run to 10 games. Stead curled home in the opening minute, Colback added the second before half-time and McAuley headed in the third after Ian Evatt had pulled one back for the Tangerines, who had David Vaughan sent off for two bookable offences late on.
